Oracle , SQL7 SQL2000, and OS390 DBA
Due Date: May 9, 2003 at 10:00 A.M. EST
Duration—6+ months
Location: Raleigh, NC
Start date: 6/2/03
Rate $50hr 1099 all inclusive. (You pay your expenses)

Description:
Data Base Administrator (DBA) needed to assist Departmental DBA in special projects and daily tasks involving Oracle and SQL Server Databases for migration and maintenance purposes.

Experience with the following:

Windows 2000, NT4, Active Directory – Sufficient operating system knowledge to handle database issues.

Thorough knowledge of Oracle 8.0.5 and 8.1.7 – utilizing best practices for installing software, creating databases, migrating from one version to another, performance monitoring, exports/imports, use of SQL Loader, backups/restore, reorganization of the databases, applying patches where necessary; detailed documentation for Disaster Recovery. Should have basic knowledge to be able to work without the use of third party tools.

Preferred experience: 8 years minimum

Oracle 9.i.x installation and migration using best practices– minimum 1 year experience.

Thorough knowledge of MS SQL7 and MS SQL2000 – utilizing best practices installing, creating databases, migrating from one version to another, backups using MS SQL, performance monitoring, backups/restore, reorganization of the databases, DTS, export/import; detailed documentation for Disaster Recovery.
Preferred experience: 5 years minimum

Knowledge of IMS on the OS390 mainframe to handle DL1 databases would be helpful

Backup tools - BackupExec, NT backups knowledge would also be helpful

.Net - a working knowledge would be helpful!
