Oracle 8i installtion problem on win 2000

hi everybody,
i have got a problem installing my oracle 8i client on win 2000.
When i start installation i get the message
"Java Runtime Environment not found, /stage/components..../jrew.exe". My computer is a Intel PII MMX 300 whith Win 2000 Service Pack 3, Java 1.2.2_008.
Does anybody has an idea?
