POSITION CLOSES 1/31/2003 1PM EST—NO EXCEPTIONS. Description:
Data Base Administrator (DBA) needed to assist in special projects and daily tasks involving Oracle 8i and 9i Databases(running on Unix/Linux OS), in a multiple database environment including setup/installation, migration, tuning and maintenance. Assist in trouble shooting end users as part of a 3rd level support team related to performance, reporting etc. Create Oracle security profiles, use database tools for troubleshooting and trending such as Toad and Precise. DBA will also assist in supporting backup and recovery solutions using tools such as Veritas Net backup and Oracle RMAN. Comprehensive DBA activities include application and Oracle installations, upgrades, database creation and support, performance tuning and security. Expertise in administering Oracle 8i and 9i databases in a Unix /Linux environment
Experience in supporting multiple Oracle database environments Experience in designing and implementing physical and logical layouts of Oracle databases
Experience in creating Oracle security profiles Experience in trouble shooting end user problems, related to performance, reporting, security etc.
Experience in supporting Oracle backup and archive methods Good understanding of Unix (Solaris) server administration Experience with Veritas net backup server and RMAN preferred Experience with Database tools i.e. Toad , Precise etc. Minimum of 5 years experience as Oracle DBA Oracle DBA certification preferred
Person may be required to carry a pager as part of an “on call” rotation.
