Do LONG columns get replicated with Oracle Replicated Server?

The scenario: LONG datatypes used in Oracle's Replicated Server
environment
The issue: We have read that the data stored in LONG's is not
transferred to other servers. It is simply omitted. Has this been your
experience? Can you shed any light on this situation?
