ORACLE 8.1.7 FAILS WITH RETURNING CLAUSE UNDER XA..

Hi,
Am working with oracle 8.1.7 under Dynix (although if this is a real problem it probably happens elsewhere). We have Tuxedo 6.5 running under windows 2000. The problem comes with using the RETURNING clause during INSERT, UPDATE or DELETEs. Oracle fails with an ORA-65534 error. (an undocumented error!). The same code workis without the RETURNING clause.
Does anyone know of any reason why this should happen. Does the RETURNING clause work under 8.1.6 or any other version alongside XA, or is this a limitation of the Oracle RM/OCI implementation.
