Import and Export schema to different OS platform

Hi all,


    I am trying to find a safe way to bring a schema from one platform to
another platform .


   I can assume that all platforms have the same Oracle version (8.1.6 for
example).


   Can I safely assume that if I use Oracle exp to export a schema from my
machine (AIX for example) I can Oracle imp to import back the schema in
another OS (such like SCO Unix etc...).


If not can anybody give me a suggestion ?
