I thought the command was 'alter database resetlogs'

: There are no 7.1.6 instances running.
: In fact ALL databses are down when I try this.

: I have even cloned our current TEST 7.3.3 database which

: I have checked out my create controlfile syntax by running

: It appears that only that specific database has a problem.
: The errors:

: ORA-01565: error in identifying file '/u04/cloneprod/syst_YUFATEST_01.dbf'
: ORA-09782: sfifi: another instance has the same database mounted.

: Is it possible that the system tablespace or system datafiles are corrupt in

: I considered renaming the datafiles,
: per ORACLE 7.3.3 documentation, but you need to have the
: database mounted - which you can't do without control files!!
: I would prefer not to do the ORACLE supported
