RDB Index question

Hello all,
I'm using Oracle RDB 7 under OpenVMS 7 and am going over our indexing
scheme. I'm fairly new to this aspect of DB's and have been reading about
such things in the Oracle documentation "Guide to DB Design and
Definition" and "Guide to DB Performance and Tuning"...
My questions are thus:
*If I have two storage areas for a table -- one in mixed page format for a
single hashed index, and one in uniform page format for a single sorted
index -- in which do I put the storage map, or do I put it in a third
area?
*Since the storage map will be in only one area (regardless of where I
put it), how do I go about optimizing the sizes of the respective storage
areas and their page sizes? (any differently anyway, than the simple
one-table-one-index strategy given in the text's examples)
Email reply appreciated (I don't get to play here much)
Many thanks,
Chris.
