number of read-only snapshots

Hi,
I'm currently examining the possibilities of using Oracle replication and the distributed option for distributing data.

My question is about the number of read-only snapshots with the Oracle Workgroup Server version 7.3 + the distributed option:

Since automatic refresh of those snapshots are handled with job queues, it's necessary to have _at least_ one SNP process running. According to "Oracle7 Server Distributed Systems vol II" it's possible to have up to 36 such background processes, SNP0-SNP9 and SNPA-SNPZ. My impression is that the number of snapshots for automatic refresh isn't limited by the number of SNP processes - one process is necessary to perform automatic refresh, and running more processes improves the performance if there is need to refresh many snapshots at the same time.

Could someone comment on my thoughts here - I need to know if the number of read-only snapshots for automatic refresh is limited (the snapshots would probably be updated at about the same time) by this or by something else.

Thanks in advance
