OracleWebServe and Java

I have just installed an OracleWebServ 2.0 on my NT box, and I need some guidance. I am trying to develop a java applet that will connect through the OWS to an Oracle Database on a HP-UNIX bos and retrieve some data to be updated to the web Page.

The documentation that goes along with the OWS is somewhat cryptic. I am trying to do a proof of conception application, so all ideas would be welcome.

Specifically, if anyone has some kindler, gentler documentation on OWS 2.0 or code examples where java applets are connceting to it I would appreciate it.

also, I am not sure how to integrate these tools since they could all potentially be on different machines, and in the future even possibly differnet LANS. I would appreciate some guidance.
