I am working on a relational database development project. We wish to store details of countries in a country table, containing data such as Country Code, Country Name, Territory, International Dialing Code, Primary Currency etc. Does anyone know if there is an International Standard set of Country codes, and if there is an 'off the shelf' country database table? I know there are such standards for currency codes and I assume that there are hundreds of databases out there that use country codes.
I am currently searching the web for this information, but with no luck so far.
