Financials Concurrent Manager Problems

Hello!
Since Oracle support is still scratching their heads over this one, I thought I'd post it to the world and see if anyone else has any ideas:
The Configuration:
Oracle RDBMS 7.1.6
Financials 10.5 (running 10SC prod 9)
HP-UX 10.20
The Story:
We currently upgraded our HP server to HP-UX 10.20. After upgrading, we relinked Oracle RDBMS and all Financials executables. The problem we're encountering is this: Some concurrent requests error out with the following error:
APP-01084 Concurrent Manager cannot open your concurrent request's
log file.
Cause: Concurrent Manager has encountered an error while opening your concurrent request's log file /u02/app/applmgr/10.5/common/logprod/l20493.req in append mode. Action: Check that the person who started the concurrent manager has privileges to create and write to files in the the concurrent program's log directory. Contact your system administrator to obtain create and write privileges.
Suspisiously, all the concurrent requests that fail are ones that are defined as "Spawned". If they are a simple "SQL*Report", or "SQL*Plus", they run fine.
What I'm thinking is that there is a problem with the spawned processes writing to a file that another process has opened, and this might be a HP-UX problem. Or, that the "open" routine that Oracle uses is not compatible with HP-UX 10.20.
Does anyone have *ANY* thoughts on this? Oracle support has been working on this for four days now with no end in sight. Meanwhile, we have users that cannot do postings, etc.
Thanks for any information!!!
