Guys,
We all know and love SQL*Net 2 (after all how would we get overtime
without it?).
Here's a little useful info for you.
- The initial connection can be (and usually is) much slower than subsequent connections.
- If you set AUTOMATIC_IPC = OFF in the SQLNET.ORA file you should see an improvement in connect time as it wount look up the address.
- You can also specify the IP address in the HOST part to sort of 'direct connect'.
