*DESCRIPTION:

Take leadership role in current and future systems design projects to ensure security is addressed (i.e. EDI security, satellite security, HLR security, paging security, IS-41 intersystem message security, key management, etc.)
Participate in the evaluation security assessment of technologies (CDPD, paging, air to ground, PCS)
Create innovative and cost-effective solutions to existing systems and participate in "vetting" new systems.
Participate in the establishment of security policies and requirements for AWS and monitoring compliance.
Act as a strong technical liaison ("subject matter expert") to organizations throughout AWS developing secure systems. Act as a focal point and resident expert on the ANSR (AT&T Network Security Requirements) security requirements. Form alliances with and partner with the Information Systems, Engineering, and Network Operations Department.
Participate in security awareness training, the security lecture series, and development of platform-specific security guidelines. Proactively stay abreast of and maintain "state of the art" technical competence in the information security and cryptographic field; Track significant developments in secure systems engineering with major research and government organizations.
Establish on-going information-exchange relationships with cryptographic and data security community (i.e. IACR, NCSA). Act as a technical interface to AT&T Security Organization "Technology Management" district and AT&T Labs.

*REQUIREMENTS:

Must be a self starter, highly motivated and work with minimal supervision.
A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related discipline); A Master's Degree is highly desirable.
Must possess understanding of systems, hardware, and software engineering Ability to interface with all levels of technical and management personnel.
Detailed understanding of AWS business operations and the wireless industry is desirable.
Fundamental understanding of UNIX/UNIX security, TCP/IP, SS7, ISDN, X.25 and other networking protocols.
Theoretical and practical understanding of cryptography, data security, network security, and key management .
Minimum 8-12 years systems engineering, information systems and infosecurity experience.
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skill required.
Team player and ability to work with people across organizational boundaries.
Willingness and ability to travel within US (<30%).
