Developer 2000 vs. Other Tools

Is there anyone out there who has compared the development capibilities of Developer 2000 vs. Visual Basic or Power Builder. There are several books which I have read, but I don't think you can find the "gotchas" unitl you begin development.

This is my current understanding of Developer 2000 and Designer:

Designer gets you 60% of the way there... then pick up with Developer... Developer gets you 85% of the way there... VB fills in the cracks...

I am working on a Data Warehousing project which requires very light data entry from the client, but will require summarization of data to occur on the server with much higher demand of resources. The server is an HP-UX.
