Restricting DML commands to only YOUR Client App

I am interested in finding out how others have restricted "their" Power Builder client applications to have sole ability to execute DML commands. This implies that a user who connects to the database through SQL*Plus (or other tool capable of submitting DML commands) is not able to successfully execute the DML commands.

Please send your replay as email since my news server isn't that reliable.
