I too looked for oraperl as a product first. But I was finally led down the Perl DBI path.
You can get info on the Perl DBI interface from www.hermetica.com.
Using DBD drivers that come for Oracle
(Thanks to Tim Bunce, Kevin Stock) and other databases you get the
same effect as oraperl originally did. The ftp site that I got
the stuff from is ftp.demon.co.uk
