Problems with 7.2.3 on SCO - It's hanging...

Hi folks,
We're experiencing problems with 7.2.3 on SCO (also AIX). If we use optimizer_mode=first_rows, RDBMS just hangs after some hours of work. We moved back to optimizer_mode=rule.
We did analyze_schema for all users (including SYS).
Any TIP? Any similar experience?
