Not true, my friend. Please don't jump. The discussion was with reference to ORACLE RDBMS Ver 7.1.3.

The history of it is that a bunch of views (missing or new) were later added in 7.1.6. Read the comment at the top of catalog.sql shipped with 7.1.6. It was modified by Aho on 1/3/95 to add synonym support for v$instance, v$mystat, v$sqltext and v$shared_pool_reserved. Received on Thu May 09 1996 - 00:00:00 CEST
