Opinion Follows:

Oracle already mirrors the Redo Logs and Control files. It has its own Raid-1, so to speak.
The data files are highly recoverable from redo logs and archived redo logs. I'm not sure RAID is good for much. Maybe you should keep the redo log archives on RAID. That's about all I see it being good for.

Some say that "Striping" your tablespaces all over all available media gives good performance. You can't really do much tuning, but they say you don't need to. I've never tried this.

I have measure RAID performance penalties, and I think its only good for backing up an active Oracle database.
