  1. Under the user ID, where you logged in or su - whatever as whatever, print the environment variables and a full ps (ps -efl) to a file. Also, note the shell environment under which you are doing this.
  2. Set up the crontab under the same user with the same shell - this means you may need to bang a c-shell. Under the crontab, before you invoke sqlplus (make it all one shell script), print the environment variables and a full ps. rs operating differently, different environment variables, or some oracle processes that are shut down for part of the night.
