Helge,

You need to define a database within the application that you are interested in reverse-engineering. To do this, within RON, click on Databases on the left-hand tile. Then click on the + button on the tool-bar. You should see a database definition tile on the right side. Type in the name that you want to call your database within your application. Then fill out the values to define your database to your needs. I have just let all of the values default and gone with the default-configured database in the past. However, some people feel that you set the database up with the right file sizes, etc. from the very beginning. In any case, once you've defined the database to your satisfaction, press the save button and the database should be created. You should be able to see it listed on your left-hand tile as a database object in your application. You may need to save your application and get out of RON and even out of Des/2000 before you can actually see it. It's a little flaky that way.

Once you have your database defined you should be able to proceed with the reverse-engineering as you stated. It's a little tricky so don't be afraid to write back if you have trouble.
