Oracle Version Control tools?

Hello there,

We have a team developing applications in Oracle, we need some version control tools to manage our code. We are using Oracle 7.1.6. By the code we need to maintain, I mean those code that create Oracle objects like tables, views, stored procedures, etc. We currently have a public directory, everyone put their new/modified code in it and we transfer those files to a priviledged directory periodically. This is just a ad hoc way to maintain source code, if we want to go back to some previous point, it's hard to do it within this system, not to mention other version control functions.

My questions are:

1. What means do people usually use to control their Oracle source code?
2. Is there any free/shareware for Oracle version control? If there isn't,
3. Is there any commercial software?

Please email your response to jun_at_twinkie.bsis.com.

I appreciate your answer, any!
