Help: SPX LISTENER goes down unpredictably

Using Oracle 7.1 on a Sequent, our SPX listener process is going down unexpectedly. It seems to happen when we have 5 or more users connected to the listener. All of the sudden, the listener breaks the active connections, and goes down. When you try to re-connect, you get ORA-12203 (due to listener going down).

Has anyone else experienced similar problems?
