ORA-03113 is an old nemisis of mine: even Oracle tech support will tell you that it can be just about anything. Eek. In our case, it was due to our lame network setup: we formerly used Banyan servers for TCP/IP routingand the NIC/drivers in the servers weren't capable of passing packets of the size being pumped down the net. Since I'm not a network admin, I don't have the precise details, but I recall that the problem was resolved by going to another NIC and driver combination.
