I have just gor Paradox running under Win-OS2 talking to my Oracle for OS/2 server (on the same PC). I had SQL*Link, but could not get them to work I installed the Oracle ODBC drivers, and got Paradox working that way. I have no idea what the pros and cons of ODBC vs SQL*Link are.

Does Personal Oracle include Oracle's ODBC drivers? If so, install them. You will then need to copy the .NEW files in the IDAPI file to Windows\System and rename them to *.DLL (copy the old files first). Paradox needs this updatd ODBC stuff.

Go into the IDAPI config program and set up an ODBC driver connected to Oracle. Create an alias.

Note: I had to include 2: as the first part of my connect string to get it to use SQL*VDM. You may need a similar prefix.

Start Paradox. Use the Alias screen to connect to the database.

It took me ages, and I still can't get the connection to work over SQL*Net (from a Windows PC).

Hope this helps.
