I am trying to compare the state-of-art products using replication technology. I have some questions about how Oralce replication system works. Can anybody answer them for me?

Questions about Oracle replication systems:
- How does Oracle table snapshot replicate changes from the mastertable to snapshot during the refresh period?
- What is the relationship between Oracle table snapshot and Oracle7 symmetric replication? Does Oracle7 symmetric replication come before Sybase replication server and Ingres replicator or after?
- How can Oracle7 symmetric replication accomplish the transactionally consistent manner replication?
