help to upgrade to &.1.4 from 7.0.16

Hi DBAs!
Please help me to upgrade my RDBMS from 7.0.16 to 7.1.4
on Solaris 2.3.
After I upgraded, I did not find any error message from log file.
Howver, on the server side, I find that:
1) after databse startup, I have more oracle processes on background.
ora_reco_SID, ora_d000_SID, and ora_s000_SID
what is these? I did see them in 7.0.16.
2) After connection from clients to server are refused, I found
$ORACLE_HOME/bin, where XXXX is 4 digits.
On the clients side, when trying to connect to server,
ORA12500: TNS: Listener failed to bequeath connection.
I can use TNS on server side to connect from one databse to another without
problem.
