what causes a stored Procedure status to become invalid ????

I have several stored procedures on the oracle server and they work fine. but after several days, their status becomes invalid and users will get a pl/sql error!! So I will run the script to create/ replace them, but after a few days, the same thing happens !!!
what can cause a perfectly valid, working pl/sql stored procedure to suddenly become invalid ???
any ideas ?
