This is absolutly port/platform dependent. Some ports will disable asyncio if you run multiple dbwr's (since the OS's on those platforms can't hanlde multiple Oracle processes doing asyncio) others won't. Some ports/platforms can just aboput handle any workload with one dbwr and aysncio and others can get a performance increase running a few dbwr each using asyncio. This is very platform specific, check with the vendors.

Remember this only helps if your database is write (not read) I/O bound.
