Help/Suggestion on Oracle 7.0.16 (OSF/1 2.1)

Hello Guys,

I have installed Oracle 7.0.16.4.1 on DEC Alpha AXP OSF/1 2.1 machine. The problem is I can not access remote sqlplus running on hp or aix machines. I have really tried all possibilities in the listener.ora, tnsnames.ora and sqlnet.ora files, but it does not seem to work. So the alpha machine is failing to work as a client. The other way around works fine that is I can access the sqlplus running on alpha machine from hp or aix.

This is what I meant to say:

$sqlplus login/pwd_at_tns_entry_in_hp_pointing_to_alpha --- this works fine.
$sqlplus login/pwd_at_tns_entry_in_alpha_pointing_to_hp ----- this fails

Does anyone happen to have the similar problem on OSF/1 2.1 ? I have installed Oracle on other platforms they seem to work properly. I would really appreciate any responses. If you have a hint please email me at the following address, I would be happy to provide with more details.
