Hi. I, too am a SYBASE dba who has moved to ORACLE. (For now). The main books I read when I started, back in April, were Corrigan & Gurry's _ORACLE Performance Tuning, and two ORACLE manuals: the Server Concepts Manual, and the Server Administrator's Guide. Most of the books I saw at the bookstore weren't exactly what I wanted: they either covered V6/7--and I only wanted to know about v7--or they looked too easy.
