Performance and I/O

Does anyone have any rule of thumb, etc., for estimating the overall system performance benefit of running Oracle in an Oracle
"native" filesystem vs. using journalled filesystems as found on
IBM's AIX? Is it a potential 20% increase? 5%? 25%? I know this is one of those "your mileage will vary" concerns, but does anyone have even a ballpark estimate of what one might achieve?
