Listener process dying in 7.0.16

G'day,

Does anyone else have the problem we have in 7.0.16 where the lsnrctl process just stops working ? The process itself doesn't die, but it stops working (e.g. you try getting into sqlplus and it just sits there, contemplating it's navel). Any help would be apprieciated.
