As far as I am aware, this is the only choice you have. The reason being that I am unaware if the other PC protocols (SPX/IPX or NetBios) can run on top of a serial line. If there are other implementations, I would like to know. Further, I believe that the only listener on HP-UX is the TCP listener.

With regards to SLIP and PPP, two current products come to mind, FTP Software and NetManage. I believe both offer SLIP and PPP products. Also, Chicago is supposed to provide native SLIP and PPP over an (Windows) internal implementation of TCP/IP. This is also true with Daytona.
