SQL*Forms 3.0.16 does do a normal commit, even when the message line displayes 'Nothing to commit'. You can test this very easily, make a test form with 1 block and a non-basetable field. Write a key-nxtfld trigger with an insert statement in a dummy table. Hit [Nxtfld] and [Commit] Forms will display 'Nothing to commit', since there are no basetable fields, but if you open another session and check your dummy table with SQL*Plus, you will see that your data has been inserted.
