I am posting the following on behalf of Philippe Glowacz. Please reply to philipg_at_milu.wustl.edu.

|I'm looking for people who have experience in installing and
|configuring an IBM VM client to a SUN Oracle server (SunOS 4.1.3)
|using SQL Net APPC/LU62 V1 as protocol via SDLC line.
|
|The IBM client is already setup, the server too, the applications are
|already running against the Sun Oracle DBMS by using SQL Net Decnet.....
|We are trying to migrate from the Decnet protocol to APPC/LU62.
|
|Oracle V7 for SUN does not provide SQL Net Decnet V1 only V2. Oracle V7
|for IBM VM has only SQL Net Decnet V1 and will not create a V2 SQL Net
|Decnet (marketing decision). For that reason, the only solution is to
|migrate to V7 on my SUN Oracle RDBMS. I need to change protocol for my
|IBM VM client.
|
|Configuration to set up :
|
| Applications = Cobol programs with embedded SQL running on VM client
| accessing a SUN Oracle DBS server via APPC/LU62 protocol.
|
| Client = IBM 4381 VM running VM/ESA 1.1
| VTAM V3.3
| SQL Net APPC/LU62 V1.1 (not V2)
|
| Network Line = Connection between the IBM and the SUN
| via a 3725 controller running SDLC.
|
| DBS server = SUN 690MP running SUNOS 4.1.3
| SunLink APPC/LU62 : Gateway Peer to Peer V7.0
| Oracle V6.0.36/V7.0.15
| SQL Net APPC/LU62 V1.1 (not V2)
