Sybase sells a product called OMNI SQL Gateway that has interfaces for ORACLE, INGRES and DB2 (as well as Sybase SQL Server). This allows users to see all 4 products as a single dbms. OMNI uses Sybase's T-SQL as a query language and translates to the target SQL dialect. It is designed for decision support applications and can support distributed joins across different DBMS's. Contact you local Sybase seller and they can give you more info.
