I was told that Forms 4.0.12 would not be available for Solaris 2.3 until after 7.0.16 of the RDBMS was distributed - soon.
Regardless, the problem described is handled simply by providing the Motif fonts on the fontpath using xset.
OpenLook has fonts by the same name, but they are NOT compatible. In order
to run *both* Motif and OpenLook applications - we renamed the Motif fonts
and added the new names to the fontpath:

Notice the first few fonts that end in Motif? Their mine.
