My understanding is that they are one and the same. In fact, on VMS, under ORACLE 7.0.16.4, there is no symbol for SQLLDR, but the SQLLOAD symbol actually runs the SQLLDR executable.

Under Solaris, it looks like there are two executables, and they have different sizes and modification dates. But, when you run sqlldr and sqlload, they both say that they are SQL*Loader.
