Everybody,..

If ORACLE8 implements a CORBA compliant ORB (object request broker) and an object framework such as NeXT Inc.'s Enterprise Objects (a system which provides object storage and persistance in a standard RDBMS) then ORACLE8 would become an Object Repository as well as a Data Server!!!?? And if it produces tools like NEXTSTEP on say "Project X", users will be able to build client-server applications based on Object technology in no time at all. Also expect performance to be far greater than SQL*Net.

Also NeXT may produce their object-oriented file system for NEXTSTEP based on *Enterprise Objects*. Which means that ORACLE8 may serve as an Distributed Object-Oriented File System as well!!

Anyone know any details of ORACLE's object technology plans/partnerships?
