This is what I was told as well.

Obviously you mean for an Intel box (I hope). My personal opinion is that OS/2 Oracle is not robust enough. The Netware vs SCO choice is a little more difficult. As I understand things, Netware (and would appreciate correction), Oracle can't be assured of preemptive multi-tasking unde that NOS, and there would therefore seem to be some advantage to going with Unix. On the other hand, the Newware version is extremely popular, so there might be some advantages that go along with the extra marketing clout (for example more frequent updates, better support).

We have some installations that manage this sort of thing by mounting multiple NICs in the server. I don't think anyone is happy with such solutions because of the need to deal with multiple protocol stacks on the client side.
