password for update access to the production Oracle tables. Yet they need to update these tables using SQL*Forms. Hence we are interested in a method to allow SQL*Forms to update without the users knowing an 'update' password.
The users would have a 'read' id/password.

For security reasons, we don't want our users to have a known
password for update access to the production Oracle tables. Yet they need to update these tables using SQL*Forms. Hence we are interested in a method to allow SQL*Forms to update without the users knowing an 'update' password.
The users would have a 'read' id/password.
Is it feasible to modify SQL*Forms so that it accepts a 'read' id/password and then does another covert login using an 'update' id/password? If so, would someone share the code? Could this work with or without OPS$ login?
We are running SQL*Forms 3.0 under AIX (RS/6000).
