: First, the environment is a PC running Access, and a Oracle database on a UNIX

: My questions are:

: 1. Will this work with Access version 1.1?

Yes it would, we got it working here.

: 2. Is SQL#Net required on the client, server or both?

SQL*Net is required on both Clieht and Server. You have to use the windows version of SQL*Net, not the DOS version.

: 3. If SQL#Net is not required, will ODBC do the job by itself?

See above.

: 4. If ODBC can run without SQL#Net, what does it talk to on the
: server -- directly to Oracle or what?
In addition to SQL*Net, you will need a TCP/IP software on PC, SQL*Net supports products like PC/TCP, PC/NFS, Wollongong's TCP, Novell LAN Workplace etc.
: Thanks in advance
