INFORMATION SYSTEMS DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS The University of Michigan's Department of Internal Medicine is seeking customer-driven, seasoned information systems professionals with proven ability in development of large, multi-user (500+ user) information systems in a MacIntosh/Oracle client-server environment. Successful candidates will be experienced in professional management of information systems development and looking to apply their experience as a vital, visible member of a small team of high caliber, hands-on professionals.   These individuals will be responsible for all phases of the systems development life cycle necessary to insure successful, timely, and financially responsible achievement of business/technical project objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include but are not limited to:

? Facilitating Steering Committee proceedings for assigned application
area(s).

? For custom system implementations, developing custom applications using
rapid application development and prototyping techniques.

? For packaged system implementations, developing RFPs, conducting
package selections, and implementing modifications/interfaces as necessary.

? Providing user and technical training and documentation.

? Supporting applications to assure business continuity and improvements.

? Planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of any programming
and/or clerical personnel that may be assigned on a project basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates should possess minimum qualifications including:

? Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or Business Administration.

? Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills.

? 7+ yrs experience and demonstrated ability in business systems
analysis, design, development, and implementation producing large multi-user (100+ user) applications.

? 2+ yrs hands-on experience and demonstrated ability in large
client-server application development utilizing MacIntosh and DOS-based clients and Oracle or other large-scale relational database servers.

? 2+ yrs experience and demonstrated ability in conducting structured
packaged software selections.

? 2+ yrs experience and demonstrated ability in working with large user
groups to plan, design, and implement application systems.

? 5+ yrs experience and demonstrated ability in structured project
planning, management, and successful execution.

? 5+ yrs experience and demonstrated ability in developing financial and
other administrative applications, OR, 2+ yrs experience in developing applications in an academic research environment.

The successful candidate will be customer-focused, flexible and able to work some evening and weekend hours.
