I have had the same problem too, running on IBM compatible (MSDOS, Novell-net)
The client workstation can't hold all the records fetched in memory.
You should set a variable in you config.ora file I can't remember the details and I don't have them handy, but it is something like 'SET TMPDIR=<path>' (migth be TEMPDIR). Furthermore you should in SQL*Forms (design) set the number of Buffered records to a resonably amount. That is more than the number displayed.
Contact oracle support, they will tell you (They told me). Especially as some details will depend on the OS!
