We are exploring the possibility of implement a PC net based client-server system with
Oracle. The server considered is either a UNIX system or a power PC(if Oracle figure
out a way to support multiuser).
The questions are:
.Is it possilble using a PC server for multiuser? If it's possible, how is it
compare with a UNIX server?
.What kind of PC network does Oracle support(PC-NFS, Novell..)?
What kind of underlying hardware options we have(ethernet, arcnet...)?
.How many users can be supported and how is the performance?
All replies will be greatly appreciated.
