 This is true

If you could afford it, this would be the better way.

        This will work too.

>Is this true?

One method I used once was to export the database ( in this case
it was MPL7.3, V6.0.27 on a Pyramid ) and loaded up the database on
the target ( an AT&T StarServer ). I cut a new database on the
StarServer under V6.0.30 and imported the database from the Pyramid.
I then ran the Financials upgrade steps for 7.3 to 8.3. It seemed
to work o.k. The prefered method of upgrading databases is a full
export and import. Because the database was loaded with 7.3 format
Financials data, I just ran the upgrade setpes on the target machine.

What you have to check is that the MPL9.3.6 software on your target
machine can perform the upgrade steps.
	machine.

I don't see why the integrity of your data would not be guaranteed.
Oracle has a section in the installation and implementation manuals
on migrating Oracle Financials, with all the steps to perform for
moving from one machine to another or one database to another. Export
and Import are supposed to be the way of moving a databse between
platforms. I would check with Oracle again.

I have never found upgrading Oracle to be a no-brainer, but 'point'
releasees are typically much eaier than majore release upgrades. I
would call the hotline to get as much information as to problems and
	workarounds before I started.

No. But plan on a few hectic days and some late nights.
