I just finished a week of training on the new CASE tools (Dictionary v5, Generator for Forms/Menu v2, and Generator for ReportWriter/Plus v2). I was very impressed.

The version I worked with was still beta, so there were still two bugs we had to work around; they're both fixed in the prodution release. (They involved certain statements getting improperly read by a later step, so you had to manually specify column usage per function module -- but it's fixed, so don't worry about them. Worry about the ones nobody's spotted yet. :-)

I found the Forms generator and Menu generator to be very good indeed. I wasn't able to try out the reports generator. The big new feature in the Forms generator (other than the ability to generate Menus) is that it now re-generates, i.e. it won't wipe out customizations that you make to a form after generation. If you *want* to overwrite a custom form with a new generation, you can.

I was very happy with the product. I'm looking forward to reverse-engineering my old application into CASE.

Warning: I'm an employee of Oracle. I am not impartial.

Good luck.
