Oracle 8i 8.1.7 and Win2000 Install issues

[Quoted] [Quoted] Trying to install Oracle 8i Management software on Win 2000 box. [Quoted] Initial INSTALL screen comes up, and I select INSTALL. I get an hourglass for about 30 seconds; however, the program exits with nothing else. No error message or anything. I have installed to Win 2000 in the past with no problems. This is a new machine however, and I suppose that there are some configuration issues preventing the install.
Can anybody give me some light on this?
Also tried to install Oracle Forms/Reports 6i via the iSuite Install
Disk.
I get "Severe:Unable to verify iSuite Product Install Configuration".
Then the install cancels. This even before any INSTALL screen appears.
Bypassed that and installed Forms and Reports seperately from their
respective install disks. Install went fine with no error messages or
anything; however, Net8 Easy Config and Net8 Configuration assistant do
not function.
I get jre.exe and jrew.exe error messages. Both logs report C0000005
ACCESS_VIOLATION.
Can anybody point me in the right direction for this?
The center here has failed to renew their Customer Service contract with Oracle (currently in the works), so I am unable to get help from Oracle via Metalink or otherwise for the time being.
